Slow motionfrom any clip

Time Warper makes new frames between the ones you shot, so a clip slowed to 25% or 10% plays smoothly instead of stuttering. It works in After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Nuke.
$29.99, see what's included Pick a speed

Windows and Mac (Apple Silicon). Runs on your GPU, and your footage never leaves your computer.

Shot at 25 fps, played at 25% speed. Three out of every four frames here were made by Time Warper.

One moment, four speeds

Speed is the only setting. 1 plays the clip as shot, 0.5 at half speed, 0.1 ten times slower. Pick a speed below: it's the same second of footage each time.

Speed
The clip as shot: 1.2 seconds at 25 fps.Half speed: one new frame between each pair.Quarter speed: three new frames between each pair.A tenth of the speed: nine new frames between each pair, 12 seconds from 1.2.

No ghosts, no stutter

Slow a clip down in your editor and you get one of two things: each frame held several times, which stutters, or frames cross-faded into each other, which ghosts.

Time Warper reads the motion between two frames with an AI model (RIFE) and draws the frames in between, so arms, hair and cloth move through the gap instead of fading across it.

How it works

1Apply Time Warper

Find it under Effects > Baskl and drop it on the clip.

2Set the Speed

Anything from 0.01 to 1. At 0.25 the clip plays four times slower, starting from the layer's first frame.

3Give it room

A slowed clip lasts longer, so make the layer long enough to hold it: four times its length at 0.25.

Mixed frame rates

24 fps footage in a 30 fps comp, pulldown, or a clip with repeated frames: the repeats are merged before the new frames are drawn, so nothing freezes.

Keeps your bit depth

8, 16 and 32-bit projects. The new frames are made at your project's precision, not squeezed into 8-bit.

Questions

How is this different from Time Stretch or Timewarp in my editor?

Those hold or blend existing frames, or warp pixels with classic optical flow. Time Warper draws each in-between frame with an AI model trained for frame interpolation, which handles fast and overlapping motion better.

How slow can it go?

Speed goes down to 0.01, a hundred times slower. The slower you go, the more of each second is made by the model, so 0.1 to 0.5 gives the most natural results on fast action.

Does it work the same in DaVinci Resolve?

Yes, with one limit. Resolve won't make a clip longer than its media, so Time Warper slows down what fits in the clip: at 0.5, the first half of it, from the clip's first frame.

What footage works best?

Sharp footage shot with a fast shutter. Heavy motion blur in the source stays in the new frames, and cuts inside the clip need their own layers.

Is my footage uploaded?

No. Everything runs on your computer, on the GPU when there is one.

Does it slow down my renders?

Each new frame is one pass of the model on your GPU. On a recent NVIDIA card, HD renders at several frames a second.

Slow it down, keep it smooth
